All Folded Up
Having napkins at the table will make any meal a little more special, more so if the napkin is folded in a unique way. It will be easy to fold your napkin if they are a bit stiff so that the napkin will retain the shape after folding. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to fold your napkins beautifully:
Crowning Glory
- Start with your napkin facing down.
- Fold the napkin diagonally in half, with the open ends of the triangle facing away from you.
- Fold the right corner up so that the point is directly at the center. Do the same with the left corner. Flip the napkin over with the open end still away from you.
- Fold the bottom of the napkin two-thirds of the way up. Press well.
- Now flip over again with the point still facing away from you.
- Curl the left and right sides up so that they will meet in the middle. Tuck one side into the other.
- Place the napkin on the plate.
Fanfare
- Start with your napkin facing down.
- Fold the napkin in half, with the open end towards you.
- Start folding the napkin like an accordion (like folding a paper fan) leaving 2 to 3 inches at the end. Press well.
- Fold the napkin in half, with the accordion on the outside.
- Fold the loose ends together and tuck into the accordion.
- Open the fan and lay it across the plate.
Cutlery in a Blanket
- Start with your napkin facing down.
- Fold the napkin in half, with the open end away from you. Fold it again in the middle.
- Fold the top layer in half diagonally and press down. Turn it over.
- Fold the right side back a third of the way and press down. Repeat with the left side and tuck the ends to seal.
- Flip it over and slip in the cutlery.
- Place the napkin on the plate.
Free Style
- Start with your napkin face up.
- Pick up the middle of the napkin then put it inside a goblet.
- Arrange the napkin and you’re done.
