- tightly twisted cut piles that are heat set straight

Cut and Loop Piles
- combines both looped and cut fibers
- medium durability
- can hide dirt and footprints
- available in solid or different colors
Flatweave
- has interlocking warp and weft threads
- types are soumak, plain weave, and tapestry weave
- popular in Japan and the Orient
