How to Clean Glasswares

1. Hand washing is best for cleaning glasswares.

2. To avoid scratching the glass, take off all jewelries on your hand, specially diamond ones.

3. Pad the sides and bottom of the sink with towels before starting with the washing to prevent accidental breakage if ever the glassware will slip through your hands.

4. Always move the tap head aside when washing glasswares to prevent from accidentally knocking the glass ware against it.

5. Wash glassware one at a time.

6. For stubborn dirt, a soft toothbrush will do the trick.

7. Mix a little ammonia or white vinegar when rinsing the glassware. This will add sparkle to the glass.

8. Rinse the glass throughly to remove any ammonia or vinegar residue.

9. Hand dry glasswares to avoid unsightly watermarks and corrosion especially where the water is hard.

10. Use a clean cotton cloth in drying glasswares.

How to Give Your Kitchen Some Pizzazz

The kitchen is the heart of the home and family time that is spent in the kitchen always brings a family closer, more so if your kitchen looks good. Here are some tips on how to give your kitchen some pizzazz.

  • Give your cabinets an extra flair by painting it with three different stains or shade of the same color. Use the lightest stain on the upper cabinets, the medium stain on the drawers and the darkest stain on the bottom cabinets.
  • Some drawers can be replaced with low baskets . You have to take out the middle drawer slide or side slides.
  • A beadboard can be used instead of the traditional painted backsplash. The local home improvement store can cut and install the board for you.
  • Cabinet doors can be jazzed up with fabric panels. Cut out the middle of the cabinet doors, leaving a two inch edge all around. Staple fabric panels to the back of the doors. Glue a fabric trim to cover the staples. You can use any fabric that you like.
  • Cabinet doors can be a showcase of your family’s memorable events, just attach framed photographs to the cabinet doors. You can also use your children’s artwork, postcard collection and stamp collection.
