You can add a certain flare and elegance to your home just by adding a few pieces. Chandeliers vary in size and it is wise to choose just the right size for a certain room of your house. Having the right- sized chandelier will give out the effect that you want and the chandelier will give its optimum effect. When choosing a chandelier, numbers is an important factor to help you decide what is right for your room. The following are number guides in choosing chandeliers:
- For rooms that is smaller than 10 feet by 10 feet, use a 17″ to 20″ diameter chandelier
- For rooms that is 12 feet by 12 feet, use a 26″ or 27″ diameter chandelier
- For rooms that is 14 feet by 14 feet, use a 4″ to 36″ diameter chandelier
- A 30 inches distance from the table surface should be maintained to prevent heads from bumping on the chandelier
- A chandelier should be about 12″ narrower than the width of the table over which it hangs
- The total wattage of all the bulbs in the chandelier should add up to 200 to 400 watts for it to provide sufficient light
