Sometimes it can be frustrating to decorate a small space and to think what it can be used for. You don’t have to knock down your wall in order to create a bigger room, all you need is a little imagination and help. The following are some guidelines and suggestions on how to make a small space appear larger:

• Light colors should be used on the walls to give it an open and more spacious feel. dark colors gives a “closed-in” feeling.
• Painting the whole room in the same color and shade will make the room appear larger.
• Keep the windows of a small room simple yet elegant. Your window covering should be about the same shade as your wall to create unity.
• Keep the floor open in order to create a spacious feeling.
• Keep decorations at a minimum and keep the room clutter-free.
• A small room should be lighted brightly during the night and day light should be let in as much as possible.
• Use mirrors to create an illusion of a larger room.
