Tiling Your Bathroom

When it comes to tiling your bathroom, the traditional solid white tile is now a thing of the past. Say good bye to the solid white tile and say hello to bathroom tiles in a variety of colors and designs to suit your selective taste. It is also all up to you if you want to tile your entire bathroom or just a portion of it and create an art in the untiled portion. The possibilities are endless and the only limitation is your imagination.

Before buying the bathroom tiles, it is wise to canvass around for the prize because prize varies according to the design, manufacturer and the type of tile. Make sure also that the tile that you have bought came from the same batch as different batches are made at different time and can differ in size, even slightly. Before deciding on a certain tile, make sure also that you know the maintenance required and that it fits with your bathroom theme and whether to use white or dark grout with it. There are different bathroom tile such as glazed ceramic tiles, mosaic tiles, natural stone tiles, porcelain tiles, quarry tiles and terracotta tiles.

Aside from the material, type and design of the tile, the tile’s color also plays an important part of the whole bathroom look. Using pale and pastel shades together with a few bright accents can create a calm and cheerful atmosphere and gives an impression of an open area which comes in handy in case you have a small bathroom.

For the floor tiling, same pattern as the wall tile can be used but with a good grip to prevent slipping. Using tiles that are of an entirely different color and even design pattern helps balance the colors of the bathroom fixtures. If you live in cold climes, having a floor with warm-colored tiles will look better and feel even better if you install radiant heating underneath.
