Wall Decorating Ideas

Decorating your walls can sometimes be frustrating especially for those first time homeowners who haven’t got a clue. Here are some wall decorating ideas for you to try and experiment.

1. Make personalize wall decors by framing your kid’s favorite drawings and doodles or your family’s memorable snapshots. They can be small prints, made larger with oversized mats and frames, or they can even be blown up professionally into larger images. These look their best when the mats and the frames are the same. It gives the finished grouping a feeling of unity.

2. Decorative fabrics can be mounted on hard boards. Cut your chosen fabrics to your desired size with a little allowance for tacking at the back. To avoid the fabric from fraying, use a glue gun to seal the edges of the fabric. The glue will seal the fabric edges as well as providing additional support to your mounted fabric. Choose different fabric types and designs for contrast.

3. Your favorite glass or plastic bowls can be arranged artistically on your wall. This type of arrangement isn’t done very often and that’s what makes it really stunning and unexpected. For plastic bowls, you can screw them directly on the wall but glass bowls will need a holder.

4. Showcase your collection of rare stamps, old currencies, pressed flowers/leaves and even butterflies. You can ask a professional framer to mount your collection into frames which can be very easily hung on your wall. Add spot lights to accentuate them.
